This cute and colourful Ladybird Headband Craft is a delightful headband craft or project to make for that reason alone.

A ladybug headband craft is also an engaging way to introduce children to these fascinating insects and to the beauty of nature so it makes for a great animal craft for the kids.

The ladybird is comprised of two hearts on top of each other and each antennae has two hearts at the top.

This is a craft that can be made as a fun art activity in class or at home.

How to make your Ladybird headband Craft

Ladybird Headband Template

The ladybird headband template has to versions.

There is a plain template you can print on coloured cardstock paper.

If you don’t have coloured cardstock paper, you can print the coloured template on plain white cardstock paper.

The plain template is free to download and use to make your ladybird headband template.

However, the coloured version is available to download in the members library.

Materials needed

  • Ladybird template
  • A4 card stock paper (x2) – One red and one black
  • Scissors
  • Marker
  • Glue stick
  • Shape punch (heart and circle)

Instructions 

Download and print your ladybird headband craft template.

Whether it be the plain one which is free to download or the coloured version which is available in the members library.

Cut out the hearts, eyes, mouth, antennae and extenders.

Take the small heart and glue the smaller heart on top to it.

Glue firmly and right in the centre.

Glue the eyes on to the white heart.

Place the eyes under the curves at the top.

Using the marker, draw a smile or cut out the smile and glue it.

It is easier to just draw a smile on the ladybird’s face.

Take heart shape punch and cut out two hearts.

The hearts should be glued on the tip of the two antennae.

Now glue the other end of the antennae on to the face of the ladybug.

Insert and glue under the the white heart.

Now take the circle shape punch and punch out some paper circles.

Laybirds are not identifiable without their black dots.

Got the black dots on the edges of the ladybird’s face.

Let it overlap over the edge.

Now cut the overlap with scissors.

This is what the half circles look like on the ladybird’s face.

Glue the black dots on the extenders.

Also glue them on the edges so they overlap to have an authentic very ladybird effect.

Take one of the dotted extenders and glue the ladybird face on to it.

Glue it firmly in the centre.

Once fairly stuck, glue another extender on the right side.

Repeat on the left side.

Finally, join both side of the extender to make your headband.

Once firmy glued together, your Ladybird Headband craft is complete.

Cool Dad Father’s Day Card

Printable Dad Glasses.

You will need three different coloured card stock paper.

The 3 page printable template includes heart shape, the face and outer ear, and the inner ear, eyes, nose and bow tie.

There is a lot of cutting involved so younger kids may need supervision.

Once all the cutting is done, assemble the bears on the heart card with glue.

Materials Needed to Make a Bear Heart Craft Card

Steps to Make a Bear Heart Craft Card

Print out the templates on each coloured cardstock paper.

Use dark coloured paper for the template with the face (the ones with oval shapes) while the light coloured ones for the other parts of the bear.

Cut out every piece of the template with glue stick in tow.

Some of the pieces can be tricky but it’s fine as long they have fun making it.

Start by glueing the smaller ear pieces to the bigger ones. Then glue them on both sides of the face.

Glue the eyes, nose and cheek pieces as shown in the picture.

Use a marker to define the nose by drawing a circle and two slants underneath

Repeat the same process to make the smaller bear.

Glue your Bears to the heart card. Leave some space to write a message  on the card.

Then glue the bow ties to both bears.

You could opt to make just one bear. This will give more space to write messages for further decorate as you please.

Print out any of the templates. The one with or without an animal in the mouth. You can also choose not to use a template and draw your own fish using the images on here as a guide.

Colour in your fish. If using the plain version of this fish craft template, colour in the big fish, little fish, bubbles and sea floor scenery.

You may use markers, crayons or coloured pencils. Markers are perfect for heavier paper, while crayons and coloured pencil are well suited to regular paper.

Colouring done.

Fold along the line shown in the template. It is the upper jaw of the fish. Make sure it is folded in a clean straight line.

Now bring the clean fold you made to the lower jaw of the fish and press down to create another fold.

Print out the butterfly template. Print here Using a pair of scissors, cut them out. If you prefer not to use the template, simply cut out two heart shapes and stick them together at the base.

 

If using a plain template, now is the the time to decorate. The kids can colour in their designs using crayon. Paper shapes can be glued on as well.

Paint the clothes pin in whatever colour you want and let it dry

Apply glue to the clothes peg and stick the butterfly cut out on.

Glue on two google eyes and use the black marker to draw on a smile.

Then cut a pair of 4-5cm long pipe cleaners and glue on as antennae.

How to make a Paper Chick

  1. Cut out two circles on a yellow paper. One 8cm circle for the body and a 3cm circle for the head. Or print the template and cut them all out
  2. Take the 8cm circle and fold it in half
  3. Take the 3cm circle and glue it to the semi circle. Make sure the curved side is facing down.
  4. Cut a small triangle in an orange colour and glue on the other side of the head.
  5. Cut two tiny L shapes for the legs and glue on the inside.
  6. Glue on the wiggly eyes.
