For the older kids who love arts and crafts, these cute bookmarks can be to used personally or given as a gift.

They also make easy mothers day crafts to make and give to mom if you are stuck for ideas.

Mother’s Day Pom pom Bookmark

All the supplies are very inexpensive and very to easy to buy. You can either buy the large poms poms or have even more fun by making your own.

Here are the different ways to make your own pom poms

What you will need to make your Mother’s Day Pom pom bookmark

  • Wool/yarn
  • Strip of thick stock card paper or cardboard
  • Scissors
  • Mini pom poms
  • Large pom poms
  • Glue gun
  • Marker
  • Pom pom maker ( if you don’t want to buy the large pom poms)

Add a some glue to the top of the paper.

Pull the tip of the yarn and lay it on the glue to stick it in place.

Then start to cover the paper by winding the yarn on.

As you  roll on the yarn, use your finger to push them close so there are no visible spaces

Add some a dot or two of glue when you are half way and then continue.

This will ensure the yarn is firmly attached to the paper.

Your bookmark is shaping up nicely.

Now that it is completely covered in yarn, you can now personalise or decorate it as you want.

You bookmaker can be decorated with craft tones or gems but tiny fluffy Pom poms are ideal because they won’t make an indentation on the pages of books.

As this is a Mother’s Day bookmark, use a marker to trace a shape or in this case a message.

This will help guide where to apply the glue.

Apply the glue to the design and then start to glue the mini pom poms to the bookmark.

Do not apply the glue all at once to prevent it from drying before the pom poms are attached.

Mini pom poms completely attached. Now add some glue to both ends of the bookmark and decorate with some pom poms.

Play around with different shapes and colours to make your bookmark eye-catching and colourful.

If you are making your own large pom pom, once you have tied the two sides of yarn together leave the ends slightly long to make string.

Turn the the bookmark upside down and simply glue to both ends of the bookmark

Your Pom pom bookmark is complete.

Now you can give this as a thoughtful Mother’s Day gift.

You can also personalise with your friend’s name using their favourite colours and give as a birthday gift

How to Make Corner Bookmarks With Template

Materials you will need

Instructions 

Download and print our template.

Carefully cut out the bookmark designs along the outer edges

Then cut along the thick line to the middle.

Make sure you only cut the thick line highlighted by scissors symbol.

Do not cut along the dashed lines

 

Fold along the dotted lines.

Fold the no 1 triangle backwards behind no 2.

 

Fold triangle no 2 backwards.

Apply glue to triangle no 3 and then glue to triangle no 4.

Glue properly and make sure it sticks firmly

All done. Now you can use any of the silly monsters bookmarks that takes your fancy.

  3. Cut out the individual tables to use as book marks
  4. Leave printout as it is if using as poster or if it is to be laminated.

How to Use The Times Table Bookmark

  1. As bookmarks of course. They are designed such that each number table enough space so that they can be cut. Simply put in your child’s favourite book. Encourage and if possible supervise a quick time table learning session before they continue to read their favourite book.
  2. You can layout the all the times tables and go toe to toe with them. Make a game out of it and make it fun for them. Hopefully, you will remember all the tables you learnt as a kid.
  3. Print out the template on A4 paper or A3 paper and use as a poster in your kids’ bedroom. If using A3 paper, you might need to adjust print settings.
  4. Another option is to print and laminate and place on the kitchen fridge or somewhere accessible.
