The ladybird is comprised of two hearts on top of each other and each antennae has two hearts at the top.

How to make your Ladybird headband Craft

Ladybird Headband Template

The ladybird headband template has to versions.

There is a plain template you can print on coloured cardstock paper.

If you don’t have coloured cardstock paper, you can print the coloured template on plain white cardstock paper.

The plain template is free to download and use to make your ladybird headband template.

However, the coloured version is available to download for free

Materials needed

  • Ladybird template
  • A4 card stock paper (x2) – One red and one black
  • Scissors
  • Marker
  • Glue stick
  • Shape punch (heart and circle)

Instructions 

Download and print your ladybird headband craft template.

Whether it be the plain one which is free to download or the coloured version which is available in the members library.

Cut out the hearts, eyes, mouth, antennae and extenders.

Take the small heart and glue the smaller heart on top to it.

Glue firmly and right in the centre.

Glue the eyes on to the white heart.

Place the eyes under the curves at the top.

Using the marker, draw a smile or cut out the smile and glue it.

It is easier to just draw a smile on the ladybird’s face.

Take heart shape punch and cut out two hearts.

The hearts should be glued on the tip of the two antennae.

Now glue the other end of the antennae on to the face of the ladybug.

Insert and glue under the the white heart.

Now take the circle shape punch and punch out some paper circles.

Laybirds are not identifiable without their black dots.

Got the black dots on the edges of the ladybird’s face.

Let it overlap over the edge.

Now cut the overlap with scissors.

This is what the half circles look like on the ladybird’s face.

Glue the black dots on the extenders.

Also glue them on the edges so they overlap to have an authentic very ladybird effect.

Take one of the dotted extenders and glue the ladybird face on to it.

Glue it firmly in the centre.

Once fairly stuck, glue another extender on the right side.

Repeat on the left side.

Finally, join both side of the extender to make your headband.

Once firmy glued together, your Ladybird Headband craft is complete.

How to make Valentine’s Day heart in Hand Craft.

Materials needed

  • 2 different Coloured card stock paper
  • Glue gun (optional)
  • Glue stick
  • Heart in hand printable template.
  • Scissors
  • Heart shape punch
  • Paper straw

Instructions

Download and print the heart in hand craft template.

Print the templates on different coloured card stock paper.

Using a scissors, carefully and neatly cut out the printed templates.

This activity develops hand eye coordination as they try to use the scissors to neatly cut around the edges.

First thing to do is to make the collapsible heart.

Take the template that look like a flower and fold into two.

Use the dotted lines as a guide if you can.

Now fold it in half right in the middle.

Make sure the edges are aligned.

Now you have your collapsible heart.

Now take the cut out of the hands.

Using two different coloured cardstock paper for the heart in hand craft ensures a contrasting colour when you place the hand on the collapsible heart.

Fold the hands in half right in the middle.

Make sure the edges aligned and evenly folded in half.

Now place the folded hands and place it in the middle of the collapsible heart.

Make sure it fits in the folded lines on the heart.

Now apply some glue and fold the flower in half so it sticks.

Repeat the above step for the other side.

Then try to fully collapse the flower into a heart and then reopen it.

Now the hand pops up when the flower is opened.

Now take the little pop up heart that goes on the hand.

Fold along the dotted lines in half.

Also fold along the dotted lines, the paper extension to be glued.

Apply some glue to the extenders.

Place the heart in the firmly in the middle as pictured

Make sure the tip of the heart is aligned to the folded crease in the middle.

Make sure the heart is not glued beyond the fingers.

Now take the heart shape punch and cut out some tiny hearts.

Now glue some tiny paper hearts on the inside of the collapsible flower.

You may decorate as you please.

Now it is time to write you message in the hands.

You may write a simple Valentine’s Day message like “I Love You”.

However, you can write any message you want.

Don’t forget to decorate the front of the collapsed flower with tiny hearts.

Attach the straw to your Valentine’s Day heart in hand craft.

Using a glue gun, glue stick or glue dot, glue the straw onto the heart craft.

Attach the straw upside down as pictured so the heart craft open up the right way.

Your Valentine’s Day heart in hand craft is finished.

Now you can give this to your valentine.

How to make Valentines Lovemeter Craft

Print out the valentines lovemeter craft template out on different coloured card stock paper

Make sure you print the templates on the coloured paper of choice. You will want the finished craft’s colours to pop.

Using the scissors, cut out all the pieces on the templates.

Glue the strips to the hearts as pictured

    

Use a sharp object or craft knife to make a hole in the centre of the circle.

Also make a hole at the top of the strip with the smaller heart.

Gently roll it round to make a hole just enough for the paper fastener

   

Download Insert the paper fastener through the short heart strip and the paper circle.

Close the paper fastener to hold it in place.

Then glue the longer heart strip to the back of the paper circle

   

Now it is time to add your favourite people on to the lovemeter.

Cut out some hearts and decorate as you please.

You can glue the hearts around the edges

Now lets build the frame to put the lovemeter.

Glue the craft sticks in place as pictured below.

You may use pva glue or glue stick. If using pva glue let it dry completely before proceeding to the next step

    

Once completely dry and the craft sticks are in place, glue the lovemeter on to the craft stick frame.

Apply glue to the frame, place firmly in the middle.

Decorate the frame with hearts.

Punch out some heart shapes and decorate the craft sticks.

If you do not have heart shape cutters, substitute with mini pom poms

To Make your Valentines day teddy bear crafts

Print the Valentines bear template below on the coloured cardstock paper of your choice.

This is a 2 page template so print both pages of two different coloured paper.

Cut out all the pieces. Eyes, nose, hands, torso and the heart.

Glue the bigger circle on a piece of paper. This is the torso of the bear.

Then glue the smaller circler on top of the bigger circle as pictured. This is the head of the bear.

Glue the eyes and the nose on to the head of the bear.

Use a marker to make slants under the nose of the bear.

Add the feet to your bear craft. Make sure it glued on top of the torso.

It is a valentines teddy bear so make sure you add the two hearts to the feet.

Now add the ear to the head of  the bear. Glue the ears under the head.

Also glue the heart firmly in the centre of the torso.

Steps to Make a Bear Heart Craft Card

Print out the templates on each coloured cardstock paper.

Use dark coloured paper for the template with the face (the ones with oval shapes) while the light coloured ones for the other parts of the bear.

Cut out every piece of the template with glue stick in tow.

Some of the pieces can be tricky but it’s fine as long they have fun making it.

Start by glueing the smaller ear pieces to the bigger ones. Then glue them on both sides of the face.

Glue the eyes, nose and cheek pieces as shown in the picture.

Use a marker to define the nose by drawing a circle and two slants underneath

Repeat the same process to make the smaller bear.

Glue your Bears to the heart card. Leave some space to write a message  on the card.

Then glue the bow ties to both bears.

You could opt to make just one bear. This will give more space to write messages for further decorate as you please.

Download and print the card template. Download here

 

Cut out the template

Cut out a circle 10cm in diameter. Write the message on it.

Then apply glue using the glue stick. Firmly place it in the middle.

Fold the template along the dotted lines.

Once folded, it should be collapsible as shown in the video above.

Apple 3 glue dots to the heart

Glue on the straw.

Then decorate with paper shapes. If you have paper shape cutter, cut out different shapes and get creative and decorating as you please.

Remember to use different colours. Use craft gems to add some sparkle.

Decorate the inside of your mother’s day heart card

Using the hole punch, punch a hole on the side of the heart.

To hold the heart in place, insert a ribbon and tie it in place.

  5. Unfold and make sure the the gift box pops
  6. Glue to the left side of the inside of the red card. Do the same with the right side.
  7. Punch out heart shapes and glue to the side of the card.
  8. Cut out the printed hearts and cut them out
  9. Stick the first heart on the front of the card. Make sure it is centred. Fold the remaining hearts in half and glue to the left and to the right. When finished, fluff out the 3d paper heart

Print out the butterfly template. Print here Using a pair of scissors, cut them out. If you prefer not to use the template, simply cut out two heart shapes and stick them together at the base.

 

If using a plain template, now is the the time to decorate. The kids can colour in their designs using crayon. Paper shapes can be glued on as well.

Paint the clothes pin in whatever colour you want and let it dry

Apply glue to the clothes peg and stick the butterfly cut out on.

Glue on two google eyes and use the black marker to draw on a smile.

Then cut a pair of 4-5cm long pipe cleaners and glue on as antennae.

DIY Valentine’s Day Card

Get paper crafting for that special person or people in your life with this DIY Valentine’s day card.

Some card stock papers, glue and paper strips and you are good to go.

Materials needed

  • Paper trimmer
  • Card stock paper (two different colours)
  • Glue
  • Hearts hole punch

Instructions DIY Valentine’s Day Card

  1. Fold the A4 card in half
  2. Using the paper trimmer, cut 1cm and 1/2cm strips in width of the different coloured paper
  3. Take the 1cm wide strips, trim to 15cm in length, glue one end, join the the other end to make a heart.
  4. Repeat the steps to make two more
  5. Glue the hearts on the card.
  6. Glue the 1/2 cm wide strips and glue underneath each heart.
  7. Punch tiny paper hearts using the hole punch and glue as you wish.
