Christmas Tree Card with Parallel Cut

A simple parallel cut technique is an easy method to create beautiful handmade cards.

It is an even smarter way to make a handful of cards to hand out to friends and family during the Christmas season.

A simple parallel cut design is stuck on plain cardstock paper and decorated. Easy!

How To Make a Christmas Tree Card

Materials needed:

Red cardstock paper

Green cardstock paper

Gold craft foam

Glue stick

Scissors

Instructions

Cut the green paper 8cm by 12cm and the red paper 13cm by 18cm.

Fold the red paper in half.

Fold the green paper in half (horizontally)

Draw a line from corner to corner. (Draw from the folded corner)

Then cut on the line

Cut parallel slits at a slight angle from the folded edge and ending at 1/2cm away from the opened edge.

Then unfold the paper

 

Fold up all the triangles by gently but firmly lifting up the slits upward.

This is the Christmas tree that goes on the red cardstock paper

Apply glue to the back of your Christmas tree and stick on the red cardstock paper.

Cut out a star shape from the gold craft foam using scissors or a star shaped craft punch.

You may substitute the gold craft foam with yellow paper

Stick on top of the tree

Cut out tiny circles using craft punch and glue on to the card.

You could also use craft stones or different coloured paper
