Valentines Gift Box Pop up card

Easy printable valentines pop up card with a 3d heart on the front and a gift box pop up inside. 

This simple valentines day pop up card is pretty enough on the front with the 3d heart with a contrasting colour. However, it has a pop gift box on the inside. Great valentines craft for kids to make as pop up crafts are always fascinating.

Adding a 3d heart or in fact any 3d paper cut to the front of your greeting card is ab easy craft technique if you want a simple design.

A red card stock paper is used for the outside and the inside of the card is a printable template.

There is a fair bit of gluing and paper cutting which should encourage fine motor skills.

 

Materials needed

Red card stock paper

White card stock paper

Any coloured paper ( for the 3d heart)

Printable template

Glue stick

Scissors

paper

Hole punch for hearts (optional)

To make your valentines pop up card

  1. Cut the red A4 paper in half measuring 21cm by 14.9cm.
  2. Print out the template that goes inside the card on what paper
  3. Print out the hearts on the different coloured paper
  4. Cut out the template. Fold in half in the middle with the printed side outside. Then cut from the edge to the end of the gift box at the top and bottom
  5. Unfold and make sure the the gift box pops
  6. Glue to the left side of the inside of the red card. Do the same with the right side.
  7. Punch out heart shapes and glue to the side of the card.
  8. Cut out the printed hearts and cut them out
  9. Stick the first heart on the front of the card. Make sure it is centred. Fold the remaining hearts in half and glue to the left and to the right. When finished, fluff out the 3d paper heart

How to make Paper plate hand bag

Put the paper plates together and a straight off the top.

Place the plates front to front and punch holes on the side.

Apply some glue to the edges and stick together making sure the holes are visible.

Insert the yarn in and out of every hole. Allow enough yarn long enough to make the bag’s handle.

Then cut using a scissor and tie at the end.

Punch out shapes and glue to your paper plate bag.

Decorate as you please with any craft items you have

You can also use adhesive craft gem stones to further decorate your paper plate bag.

Clothespin Butterfly : Instructions

Print out the butterfly template. Print here Using a pair of scissors, cut them out.

If you prefer not to use the template, simply cut out two heart shapes and stick them together at the base.

 

If using a plain template, now is the the time to decorate.

The kids can colour in their designs using crayon. Paper shapes can be glued on as well.

Paint the clothes pin in whatever colour you want and let it dry.

Apply glue to the clothes peg and stick the butterfly cut out on.

Glue on two google eyes and use the black marker to draw on a smile.

Then cut a pair of 4-5cm long pipe cleaners and glue on as antennae.

DIY Valentine’s Day Card

Get paper crafting for that special person or people in your life with this DIY Valentine’s day card.

Some card stock papers, glue and paper strips and you are good to go.

Materials needed

  • Paper trimmer
  • Card stock paper (two different colours)
  • Glue
  • Hearts hole punch

Instructions DIY Valentine’s Day Card

  1. Fold the A4 card in half
  2. Using the paper trimmer, cut 1cm and 1/2cm strips in width of the different coloured paper
  3. Take the 1cm wide strips, trim to 15cm in length, glue one end, join the the other end to make a heart.
  4. Repeat the steps to make two more
  5. Glue the hearts on the card.
  6. Glue the 1/2 cm wide strips and glue underneath each heart.
  7. Punch tiny paper hearts using the hole punch and glue as you wish.
